About the Seven Waterfalls tour
The Seven Waterfalls tour is one of the most exciting days out in El Salvador. Near Juayúa, on the Flowers Route, you walk up a crystal-clear river with water up to your knees, climb seven waterfalls with the help of ropes and end with a mud facial. Afterwards, you relax in the hot springs of Santa Teresa.
The trail
The hike starts in the coffee country around Juayúa, through a biological corridor rich in birds and butterflies. Springs born from the volcanoes feed the river, and the microclimate and volcanic soil make this one of the best coffee areas in El Salvador.
Seven waterfalls
For about 45 minutes we walk through the water and climb the waterfalls one by one, helped by ropes and by your guide. At the end we cover our faces with an exfoliating mud and then walk back to town. In total the experience takes about 3 hours.
Lunch and hot springs
Lunch is at a restaurant on the Flowers Route, or at the Juayúa food festival on weekends (not included). Then we drive to the Termales de Santa Teresa, with more than 35 pools at different temperatures, to rest after the adventure.

Get ready with sunscreen and clothes and shoes that can get wet, and follow your guide to the trail.
Seven Waterfalls hike
Walk up the river and climb the waterfalls with ropes, about 3 hours in total. We are back in town around 12:30 p.m.
Lunch
Lunch at a restaurant on the Flowers Route, or at the Juayúa food festival on weekends. Lunch is not included.
Termales de Santa Teresa
Rest in the hot springs, with more than 35 pools at different temperatures.
Return
We drive back to San Salvador, about 2 hours.

Seven Waterfalls tour: common questions
How challenging is the hike?+
It is a demanding day: jungle trails, rocky ground, river crossings and waterfall climbs with ropes. Good physical condition and shoes with grip are needed. It is not suitable for young children or people with reduced mobility.
Can I swim in the waterfalls?+
Yes. Several waterfalls have natural pools. Swimming is optional, but it is one of the best parts of the day.
Are the hot springs included?+
Yes. The visit to the Termales de Santa Teresa is included. Bring your own towel.
Is lunch included?+
No. We stop at a restaurant on the Flowers Route, or at the Juayúa food festival on weekends.
What if it rains?+
The tour runs in light rain. With heavy rain or unsafe river levels, we reschedule or offer a refund.
