About the San Salvador city tour
This San Salvador city tour shows you the best of the capital in one day. First you walk through the historic center, then you look out from the Devil’s Door, hike to the crater of San Salvador volcano at El Boquerón and finish with the Rainbow Slide.
Historic center
We drive through modern San Salvador to the historic center and visit its key buildings: El Rosario church, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Plaza Libertad and Plaza Gerardo Barrios.
The Devil’s Door
This rock formation rises above the mountains south of the city, with views of San Salvador, Lake Ilopango and, on clear days, the Pacific. It is full of local legends and one of the best photo stops of the day.
El Boquerón National Park
San Salvador volcano last erupted in 1917. An easy trail takes you to the rim of El Boquerón, a crater about 1,600 feet deep, the deepest in El Salvador. Your guide explains how it was formed.
The Rainbow Slide
On the way back we stop at Picnic Steak House, home of the famous Rainbow Slide. The ride is included, for anyone over 10 years old.

No. We stop at the restaurants in the El Boquerón area, with Salvadoran dishes in a natural setting.
