Reaching the top of the Santa Ana volcano is one of the most enriching experiences you can have in El Salvador. You will have great panoramic views, an impressive creter with an emerald sulfur lagoon. Nothing compares to this experience. 7811 feet above sea level.
We will leave San Salvador at 06:00 am, arriving at the starting point at approximately 07:45 am to be able to start our walk as early as possible and thus use the weather to our advantage.
The type of terrain we will be crossing will be cloud forest. We will pass through a bush area where the new forest is regenerating (this is a special ecosystem within the country)
Finished with 30% of the walk in a rocky area, this section is full of volcanic material from the last eruption in 2005.
For everything it will be a hike of approximately 3 or 4 hours round trip. a total distance of 5.5 miles (2.25 up 2.25 down). This hike is considered medium difficulty.

This hike is considered moderate difficulty. People with constant physical activity can do it without major difficulty. We will begin at an elevation of 5900 feet above sea level (1800 m.a.s.l.) and reach an elevation of 7811 feet above sea level (2381 m.a.s.l.).
The first 35% of the hike is done in a wooded area, the next 35% is done in a bush area, where the panoramic views begin, ending with the last third to reach the top of rocky terrain.
Usually this walk has an average duration of a total of 3 or 4 hours round trip.
